I call the Pacific Northwest home, and unlike most people, I genuinely love the rain, the gray skies, and the atmosphere this part of the world is known for. A lot of photographers wax poetic about their signature style or the one genre they choose to photograph. That's not really me; I kind of shoot whatever speaks to me. I don't have a particular genre or style in the traditional sense. I will say I gravitate to lots of negative space or the minutiae of detail. You will see this woven throughout most of my work.

I have had a camera in my hands for close to 20 years; it has allowed me to scratch my creative itch. I am terrible at every other form of art, but photography has given me the biggest opportunity to attempt to create art.

In a world where everyone has a camera and seemingly frames shots in a similar vein, my goal, maybe more my hope, is to frame my shot differently than most others. Whether I am successful or not is always up for debate.

I believe art should have a physical presence. It should feel substantial when it is printed and placed into a space. That is why I shoot in medium format, allowing me to create prints that are anything but small.
